Injective's INJ Jumps 12% as Community Buybacks Ramp Up and USDC Footprint Expands
Injective (INJ) has been trending higher since early April, with buying pressure surging over the past day. The token rose more than 12% in 24 hours, topping the market's daily gainers and pushing its seven-day advance to roughly 35%.
Two developments have been in focus. The first is Injective's Community BuyBack program, which started May 13. The plan targets a lower circulating supply through monthly buybacks and token burns. Approved via governance in 2025, the mechanism has picked up pace and complements Injective's existing burn model. So far this year, over 198,198 INJ have been permanently removed via Community BuyBacks, with community members later receiving a share of revenue in USDT and other tokens.
The second driver is Injective's growing presence in stablecoins. The network has positioned itself as the canonical USDC standard for Cosmos and for dYdX, one of the largest perpetual decentralized exchanges. Injective has also highlighted new onchain access to pre-IPO stock products linked to OpenAI, SpaceX, and Anthropic, while continuing to market itself as an institution-grade venue for real-world assets and AI agents.
On-chain activity remains elevated. Total transactions are nearing 3 billion, with about 80 million left to reach the milestone. Average transaction speed has been cited at around 0.64 seconds.
From a technical standpoint, INJ has sustained an uptrend since breaking out of a wedge on April 7, following a structure that began in late January and was confirmed by a successful retest on April 8. The token has reclaimed the $5 level and is setting up a possible test of the year's high near $6.
Market indicators point to strengthening demand. Net Volume suggested more than 112,000 INJ were accumulated at the time of writing. Bollinger Bands have widened, indicating rising volatility, and large bullish candles have reinforced momentum. INJ has also held above the Bollinger Bands midline, which typically favors trend continuation.
Even so, traders are watching for a potential pullback, particularly if price pushes into the $6 resistance zone.
Final take: INJ's 12% jump comes alongside the launch of community buybacks, Injective's expanding role for USDC across Cosmos and dYdX, and robust network activity. The token is attempting to re-test the $6 area, though sharp rallies often bring heightened correction risk.
