Hong Kong eHKD Pilot Launches With Chainlink Cross-Border Settlement and Visa Tokenized HKD

Hong Kong's eHKD program went live with a cross-border and cross-chain settlement solution powered by Chainlink, connecting ANZ's private DASChain to the public Ethereum Sepolia network under Hong Kong Monetary Authority regulations, according to a Chainlink X post. Chainlink's infrastructure, including CCIP, a Digital Transfer Agent, and the Automated Compliance Engine, supports regulated eHKD transfers, real-time on-chain NAV data, identity verification, and programmable transactions for tokenized assets. Visa is participating in the second phase of Hong Kong's eHKD Pilot Programme, using its Tokenized Asset Platform to issue and settle tokenized HKD deposits with real-time atomic settlement, working with ANZ, ChinaAMC (HK), and Fidelity International. Chainlink's LINK token has risen nearly 4% in the past 24 hours to $9.40, with trading volume at $891 million.
