Ethereum PoS Contract Holds 80.95M ETH; BlackRock, BitMine Add to Stakes

The Ethereum Proof-of-Stake contract address held 80.95 million ETH, more than half of total historical issuance, while 36.9 million ETH were actively staked, roughly 30% of total supply, Santiment and on-chain analysts show. BlackRock has been buying ETH for its planned iShares Ethereum Trust to stake for yield without managing wallets directly, SEC filings show, while BitMine purchased an additional 20,000 ETH worth about $39.8 million from BitGo, Lookonchain data show.
