Report: Ethereum Plans 2026 Glamsterdam Fork and Higher Gas Limit

Ethereum developers are planning major network upgrades in 2026, including a Glamsterdam fork that would introduce parallel processing and increase the gas limit from 60 million to 200 million, with validators shifting to zero-knowledge proof validation to target 10,000 transactions per second on Layer 1, Wu Blockchain reported. According to the report, a subsequent Heze-Bogota fork is intended to improve privacy, censorship resistance and decentralization. These planned changes are described as part of Ethereum’s broader scaling roadmap following the Dencun upgrade.
