Ethereum draws renewed focus as Vitalik Buterin outlines FOCIL and EIP-8141 upgrades for faster transaction inclusion

Ethereum is drawing fresh interest from developers and large buyers after Vitalik Buterin detailed how FOCIL and Account Abstraction under EIP-8141 could jointly improve censorship resistance and speed up transaction inclusion, with EIP-8141 upgrading smart accounts such as multisig wallets and FOCIL enabling selection among 17 independent actors per slot to reduce reliance on a single proposer. At press time, ETH was trading near $1,950 with a 0.15% decline over the last 24 hours. Onchain analytics firm Lookonchain reported that an entity linked to Tom Lee's Bitmine purchased 35,000 ETH in one day from Kraken and FalconX, worth about $69.37 million, with flows traced from exchange hot wallets to accumulation addresses. Separately, trader Tardigrade highlighted a long-term fractal on Ethereum's monthly chart that appears similar to the 2019–2020 structure before a major breakout, suggesting that if ETH holds its ascending channel and breaks above resistance, the pattern could support expectations for a strong expansion phase, according to this analysis.
