Ethereum Block Gas Limit Raised to 60 Million from 45 Million

Ethereum's block gas limit rose to 60 million from 45 million on Nov. 25, GasLimit.pics data show. The increase followed a year-long community effort led by users and developers seeking expanded capacity, Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter said on X. The change took effect automatically after more than half of validators signaled support, meeting the threshold under Ethereum's consensus rules.
