Engie considers Bitcoin mining at new Brazil solar plant to boost profitability

French state-owned energy group Engie is exploring the use of Bitcoin mining equipment at its new solar power facility in Brazil to increase profitability, Reuters reports. The company said running BTC miners could help monetize otherwise wasted energy at the plant. Engie indicated the approach would not be treated as a short-term solution.
