Echo Protocol on Monad hacked; attacker mints 1,000 eBTC worth $76.7M
Odaily Planet Daily reported that Onchain Lens monitoring indicates Echo Protocol on Monad has been compromised. The attacker minted 1,000 eBTC valued at $76.7 million and siphoned funds via Curvance using an attack path that had been tested previously. So far, the attacker has posted 45 eBTC as collateral on Curvance and borrowed about 11.29 WBTC, worth $867,700. The WBTC was then bridged to Ethereum, swapped into ETH, and 385 ETH—approximately $818,000—was sent to Tornado Cash. The attacker is believed to still control a large portion of the newly minted eBTC.
