Ethereum Whale Transfers 50,000 ETH ($145M) to Gemini After Nine-Year Dormancy

On January 26, an Ethereum whale address, dormant for nine years, transferred 50,000 ETH, valued at approximately $145 million, to the Gemini exchange. This significant on-chain movement, occurring within the past 12 hours, was reported by on-chain analyst 余烬 to BlockBeats. The address initially acquired 135,000 ETH, worth about $12.17 million, from Bitfinex nine years ago when Ethereum was trading around $90. Following this recent transfer, the whale still retains a substantial holding of 85,000 ETH, currently valued at approximately $244 million, highlighting a remarkable 32-fold increase in ETH's price since its initial acquisition.
