Bitcoin Sees $93.14M in Liquidations Over 4 Hours as Hyperliquid Whale Loses $11.63M in Single Wipeout

Bitcoin recorded about $93.14M in liquidations over the past four hours on Feb. 9, driven by a brief spike to $72,300, with shorts accounting for 81.4% of wiped-out positions, HyperInsight and CoinGlass data show. Around 60% of liquidations occurred on Hyperliquid, where address 0x5dc saw 201 BTC short positions cleared for roughly $14.49M, including a single $11.63M liquidation that fully closed the account. Another Hyperliquid position with notional value above $18M was also liquidated during the same period.
