BlackRock's IBIT Bitcoin ETF Options Reach 7.33 Million Contracts, Surpassing SPDR Gold Shares
BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) options expanded to 7.33 million active contracts as of Feb. 10, surpassing SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) at 6.44 million in open interest and making IBIT the ninth-largest options market in the U.S., Crypto Breaking News reports. IBIT options have traded more than 284 million shares, generating over $10 billion in notional value, with a put/call ratio of 0.64 compared with gold's 0.50. Bitcoin has recently outperformed gold as global risk appetite improves, even as BNP Paribas projects gold could reach $6,000 by 2026 and JPMorgan's Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou notes Bitcoin's volatility relative to gold has fallen to a record low of 1.5. On Feb. 6, spot Bitcoin ETFs posted $144.9 million in net inflows despite $20.9 million in redemptions from IBIT.
