BlackRock Files S-1 for iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF

BlackRock filed an S-1 registration statement with the SEC on January 23 for the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said in a January 26 social media post. The product will track bitcoin price performance while generating premium income through active management, primarily by selling call options on IBIT shares and occasionally referencing an ETP index. Fees and ticker symbol have not been disclosed. BlockBeats notes the S-1 is the first step in the registration process, which may include a 19b-4 rule change filing and Nasdaq listing application before issuance and trading can begin.
