BitMEX Co-Founder Arthur Hayes Sells $5M in Ethereum Ecosystem Tokens; Whale Deposits 44K ETH to Binance After $125M Unrealized Loss
BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes sold approximately $5 million worth of Ethereum ecosystem tokens on Nov. 16, including 780 ETH ($2.48M), 5.02M ENA ($1.384M), 640K LDO ($480K), 1,630 AAVE ($289K), 28,670 UNI ($209K), and 132,730 ETHFI ($124K), Hyperinsight data show. A whale address that previously shorted 66,000 ETH withdrew 177,000 ETH ($561.3M) from Aave and deposited 44,000 ETH ($140.2M) to Binance within an 8-hour window, with a purchase cost basis around $3,437 and an unrealized loss of approximately $125 million. On Hyperliquid, the largest ZEC short position holder added $5M USDC as margin collateral, holding a 5x leveraged short position from an entry price of $360 against ZEC's current price of $686, with floating losses reaching $20 million and a liquidation price at $1,084.
