Aptos rolls out sweeping tokenomics overhaul: staking yield cut, gas fees raised, 2.1B APT hard cap set

Aptos has announced a major update to its tokenomics, lowering staking APY to 2.6% and increasing gas fees by 10x. The network also established a hard cap of 2.1 billion APT. The Aptos Foundation said it will permanently lock 210 million APT. The team is also evaluating programmatic buybacks and projects annual burns of more than 32 million APT once the new ecosystem DEX launches.
