Sweden's Alecta Sells Most U.S. Treasuries, SEK 70–80bn ($7.7–$8.8bn)

Alecta, Sweden's largest pension fund, sold most of its U.S. Treasury holdings on January 21 in a disposal worth about SEK 70–80 billion ($7.7–$8.8 billion), BlockBeats reports. The fund attributed the move to rising U.S. policy risk and unpredictability. A day earlier, Denmark's Akademiker Pension said it would offload around $100 million of U.S. Treasuries, citing growing credit risk linked to U.S. fiscal sustainability and policy direction, Jin10 reported.
