Strategy Acquires 22,337 BTC for $1.57B, Raising Total Holdings to 761,068 BTC

Strategy disclosed in an SEC filing Monday it acquired 22,337 BTC last week for $1.57 billion at an average price of $70,194 per coin, bringing total holdings to 761,068 BTC and marking its 12th consecutive week of accumulation under Michael Saylor. The company funded the purchase by selling 11.8 million STRC shares for roughly $1.18 billion and 2.8 million MSTR shares for $396 million, marking the first week in 2024 when STRC sales exceeded MSTR sales in financing Bitcoin buys. The deal represents Strategy's fifth-largest weekly purchase and its biggest so far this year, slightly above a 22,305 BTC acquisition in January, with the firm having spent about $57.61 billion in total at an average cost of $75,696 per coin. Bitcoin was trading around $73,600 following the announcement, up 2.6% in 24 hours.
