Metaplanet Buys $405M of Bitcoin, Leading Weekly Corporate BTC Accumulation
Odaily Planet Daily reports that SoSoValue data show global listed companies (excluding miners) bought a net $735 million of Bitcoin over the past week as of 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on April 6, 2026, up 1,050,543% from the prior week.
Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) said it deployed about $330 million to purchase 4,871 BTC at an average price of $67,718, lifting its total holdings to 766,970 BTC.
Japan's publicly traded Metaplanet disclosed last week it invested $405 million to acquire 5,075 BTC at an average price of $79,898, taking its total holdings to 40,177 BTC.
One additional company also bought Bitcoin last week. UK-based Bitcoin firm BHODL said on April 2 it spent $68,000 to buy 1 BTC.
At the time of reporting, listed companies worldwide (excluding miners) held a combined 1,033,280 BTC, up 0.97% week over week. Those holdings were valued at about $71.78 billion, equal to roughly 5.2% of Bitcoin's circulating market cap.
