Global Risk Assets Slide on Jan. 29 as U.S. Stocks, Crypto and Metals Drop
Global risk assets fell on Jan. 29, with the Nasdaq 100 down 2%, the S&P 500 dropping more than 1%, and the Dow off 0.5%, BlockBeats reports. Spot gold broke through three consecutive round-number thresholds within half an hour and was last quoted at $5,155/oz, more than $400 below the intraday high; spot silver plunged 8% intraday, having earlier risen above $121/oz before falling by more than $15 from the day's peak, and was last at $108.23/oz. Bitcoin slipped from the $88,000 level to around $84,500 after the U.S. stock market opened; Ethereum briefly fell below $2,800, while SOL dropped below $118 and BNB below $865, and broader indices also weakened, with Germany's DAX down 2% to 24,325.51 and Mexico's main index reversing gains to trade down 1%.
