Crypto: Galaxy Digital to Run First Onchain Shareholder Vote Using Broadridge's Tokenized Equity Governance Platform
Broadridge Financial Solutions (NYSE: BR) has expanded its governance platform to enable onchain proxy voting for tokenized equities. The firm, which processes about $8 trillion in tokenized assets each month, said Galaxy Digital (NASDAQ: GLXY) will be the first user of the new capability at its annual meeting in May.
Galaxy CEO Mike Novogratz said proxy voting is a fundamental right of equity ownership and that bringing it onchain for a public company is now a practical reality. Votes will be recorded on Broadridge's dedicated Avalanche L1 blockchain and distributed across multiple chains.
The platform is designed to aggregate ballots across registered, beneficial and tokenized positions into a single consolidated view.
Galaxy earlier this year became the first U.S. public company to issue native tokenized equity on a major public blockchain, using Superstate's Opening Bell platform on Solana.
