Strategy Wraps Up $1.5B Bond Buyback, Raises Fresh Capital to Acquire 24,900 BTC

Strategy said it completed the repurchase of its 2029 notes on May 26, buying back $1.5 billion in face value for about $1.38 billion in cash, roughly an 8% discount to par. The transaction delivered a 0.7% Bitcoin yield, added 4,391 BTC, and generated $333 million in Bitcoin gains, while cutting outstanding convertible notes principal to $6.7 billion from $8.2 billion. The company also raised new funds by issuing $2 billion of Series A floating-rate perpetual deferred preferred shares (STRC) and $84 million of Class A common stock (MSTR). Proceeds were used to purchase 24,900 BTC. Year to date, Strategy reported a 13.3% Bitcoin yield, translating into 89,400 Bitcoin gains and total gains of $6.8 billion.
