Galaxy Research's Alex Thorn: CLARITY Act's 2026 Passage Hinges on Senate Committee Action by April

Alex Thorn, Head of Research at Galaxy Research, said on March 15 that the U.S. crypto regulatory bill known as the CLARITY Act faces sharply diminished prospects for passage in 2026 if it fails to clear a Senate committee by the end of April, as it must reach the full Senate floor for a vote by early May. Disagreements over stablecoin rewards remain the primary obstacle, Thorn said. Even if lawmakers resolve that issue, additional debates over DeFi, developer protections, SEC authority and ethics could still emerge.
