EU Commission Proposes Total Ban on Crypto Dealings with Russia

The European Commission has proposed a comprehensive ban on crypto transactions involving Russia to curb sanctions evasion, the Financial Times reports. The draft would prohibit any dealings with crypto asset service providers or platforms established in Russia, and cover Russia-linked crypto entities spun out of already sanctioned platforms. The proposal also includes a ban on digital rouble transactions as part of the EU's next sanctions package, which requires unanimous approval from all member states.
