XRPL Labs COO Highlights Batch Transactions as Key to XRP Ledger Sustainability in 2026

In episode 8 of Ripple's Onchain Economy series, XRPL Labs and Xaman Wallet COO Robert Kiuru described batch transactions as a potential next frontier for the XRP Ledger ecosystem. He argued that enabling atomic, revenue-generating batch operations on-chain could help wallets and infrastructure providers build sustainable businesses on the ledger. The Batch Transactions (XLS-56) amendment, introduced with rippled v2.5.0, is currently at 67.65% validator consensus, with 23 in favor and 11 against, and must reach 80% support to progress toward activation.
