Ray Dalio Warns Programmable CBDCs Are Coming With Major Privacy and Control Risks

He cautioned that most versions may not offer interest and could erode savings, while giving governments extensive oversight and control over users' transactions. Dalio also noted that the United States has paused work on a digital dollar after a January 2025 executive order, even as dozens of other countries push ahead with pilots and development.
