Kalshi kicks off 2026 with $291M day after $23.8B record year in 2025

Prediction market Kalshi began 2026 with about $291 million in notional volume on January 1, nearly twice the $147 million it saw on December 1, 2025, after a year of more than twelvefold growth. In 2025, the platform processed $23.8 billion in total notional volume and 97 million transactions, with sports betting driving activity but also drawing regulatory scrutiny and lawsuits in multiple U.S. states.
