Global dollar bond issuance hits $61B on January 5, 2026, the largest daily volume since 2025

On January 5, 2026, global credit markets saw $61 billion in dollar-denominated bond issuance, the biggest one-day corporate borrowing volume since January 6, 2025. Around twenty issuers, led by major Asian financial institutions such as Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Resona Bank, and Agricultural Bank of China, tapped investors as high-grade dollar corporate bond yields hovered near 4.8%.
