Coinbase's Faryar Shirzad warns on U.S. stablecoin rewards policy, 31 December 2025

On 31 December 2025, Coinbase's policy chief Faryar Shirzad warned on X that limiting stablecoin "rewards" could weaken the global appeal of dollar-linked assets. He cited a People's Bank of China plan to permit interest on digital yuan wallets from Jan. 1, 2026, amid Senate talks over the GENIUS Act.
