Coinbase's Base experienced a 30+ hour settlement disruption that paused state updates and withdrawals to Ethereum, while onchain activity on Base largely continued as normal. The issue was tied to a malfunction in Base's Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) enclave and was harder to notice because withdrawals already face a seven-day challenge period. No funds were reported lost, but the incident highlighted a weak point in the rollup's settlement pipeline shortly after the Azul upgrade.
