Bermuda partners with Circle and Coinbase to create an on‑chain national economy

On January 20, 2026, the Government of Bermuda announced a plan to work with Circle and Coinbase to build what it describes as a fully on‑chain national economy. Unveiled at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the initiative will deploy USDC‑based infrastructure and enterprise tools across banks, insurers, SMEs and consumers, paired with nationwide education and onboarding.
