The Ethereum Foundation has started staking a portion of its ether treasury and plans to allocate about 70,000 ETH to generate staking yield. The organization will deploy this tranche of ETH into staking, using part of its existing holdings to earn on-chain rewards over time.

Vitalik Buterin sold over 10,000 ETH in three weeks, on-chain analysts report. The sales occurred after he pledged funding for open-source projects. Aggregate disposals exceeded 10,000 ETH during the three-week period, the analysts said.

The Ethereum Foundation will stake 70,000 ETH valued at approximately $128 million under its existing Treasury Policy, the organization announced. The Foundation said it has already begun staking part of its treasury holdings in accordance with the policy, with the 70,000 ETH to be allocated from staking rather than liquid reserves.
