According to BlockchainCenter's Ethereum Rainbow Chart, ETH's valuation bands for January 31, 2026 span from $993 at the low end to $22,453 at the top. At press time, Ethereum traded near $3,102, down less than 0.1% over 24 hours and over 2% week-on-week, placing it in lower-mid zones of the model.

Ethereum is trading near $3,140 after spending roughly two months in a $2,600–$3,350 range, with the broader trend still unclear. Analysts are monitoring resistance around $3,350 and upside zones toward $3,800 and potentially $4,000–$7,000 if a decisive breakout occurs.

On January 1, 2025, ETH was $3,362; by December 22, it was $3,045, while DeFi TVL on Ethereum rose from $65 billion to $70 billion. The author highlights strong on-chain growth: stablecoin market caps on Ethereum expanded from $111.8 billion to $166.9 billion, and tokenized real-world assets increased from $4.12 billion to $12.3 billion.

As of January 12, XRP, Ethereum and Shiba Inu are highlighted as leading cryptocurrency picks, with market data showing XRP around $2.03, ETH near $3,104.79 and SHIB at $0.0000083. These assets are trading with modest daily losses or slight gains, while Bitcoin holds close to $90,347.51 and broader market moves remain mixed.

Between Jan. 5 and Jan. 9, institutional money flowed out of Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs while moving into XRP and Solana products. Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded about $681 million in redemptions and Ethereum saw $68.57 million in outflows, compared with inflows of $38.07 million for XRP and $41.08 million for Solana. This rotation shows investors trimming exposure to larger assets and reallocating toward altcoins with newer growth narratives.

On January 12, crypto markets advanced, with Bitcoin at $92,300 (+1.3%) and Ethereum at $3,150 (over 1%). Solana rose 2.5% to a $144 high, while Monero briefly reached an all-time high of $596 before easing to $563. FET and Render showed technical breakouts, and Bitcoin Hyper's ICO raised over $30.3 million.

Vitalik Buterin said in a post on X on Sunday that Ethereum needs more resilient decentralized stablecoins, highlighting risks from USD pegs, oracle attacks, and staking incentives. He floated reducing staking yields to around 0.2% and redesigning staking to avoid slashing, while the stablecoin market reached $311.5 billion in 2026.

Ethereum slid from the $3,308 swing high and dropped below $3,200, $3,180, and briefly $3,080 before finding support near $3,050. The price is now trading above $3,100 and the 100-hourly SMA, with key resistance clustered around $3,180–$3,220 and major support at $3,080 and $3,050. A sustained move above $3,180 could open the way toward $3,250–$3,320, while a failure there risks a fresh decline toward $3,000.

According to the analysis, the crypto market slipped into a weekend lull, with volatility muted across major assets. Ethereum is holding above $3,000, XRP is flashing a short-term 26/50 EMA cross, and Shiba Inu’s trading activity has thinned to near zero. The setup leaves traders watching key moving averages for confirmation.

Bitmine, linked to Tom Lee, added 86,400 ETH ($266.3M) to staking, raising its total to 1,080,512 ETH (~$3.33B) as ETH traded near $3,090. Funding rates jumped 66.12% to 0.01275 while price lagged, and resistance around $3,307 capped upside despite an RSI near 51 suggesting early momentum recovery.
