Fed survey: 10% of Americans used crypto in 2025, mostly for investing

A Federal Reserve survey found that 10% of Americans used cryptocurrency in 2025, up from 7% in 2023 and the highest level since the 2022 bear market. The data suggests most participation was investment-led (9% bought or held crypto), while everyday use stayed limited, with 2% using it for purchases and 1% sending money to friends or family. The report also notes a tougher macro backdrop as the U.S. 30-year Treasury yield rose above 5% and job-related financial concern increased to 42% from 37%.
