US CFTC Establishes Innovation Advisory Panel on Crypto and AI with Industry CEOs

US Commodity Futures Trading Commission chair Rostin Behnam announced on Jan. 13 the establishment of a new innovation advisory committee to guide oversight of blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies, BlockBeats reports. The body will replace the existing Technology Advisory Committee and aims to integrate leading crypto voices into the CFTC's rulemaking process, advising on commercial operations, economic impact and practical considerations of new financial products and platforms. Behnam plans to nominate 12 CEO-level members to the founding council, including Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss, Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan, Kalshi founder Tarek Mansour, Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek and Kraken co-founder Arjun Sethi. Traditional finance executives set to join include Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeff Sprecher, Cboe Global Markets CEO David Howson and Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman.
