Solana DeFi aggregator Step Finance, along with SolanaFloor and Remora Markets, is shutting down after a $27 million hack of its treasury wallets at the end of January. The team said it could not find a viable path forward and will halt operations immediately, while planning a buyback for STEP token holders and redemptions for Remora rToken holders.

By the 23rd of February, Solana’s real-world asset value had climbed to around $1.7 billion, with growth driven mainly by tokenized treasuries and yield-focused products. Institutional demand for 3–4% APYs, cross-chain liquidity moving from Ethereum, and expanding private credit exposure all contributed to Solana’s rising share of the $25.07 billion RWA sector. Solana's price has retreated into the high-$70 range after failing to hold above $95 earlier in the year, according to CoinMarketCap. Derivatives indicators show open interest down about 2% to roughly $5.09 billion, funding rates turning negative, and a long-to-short ratio below 1, with traders focused on support at $75–$67 and resistance near $82–$83.

Grayscale increased Cardano allocation in its Smart Contract Fund to 20.34% after successive rebalances from ~18.5% in January 2026. Solana stands at 28.69%, leaving a little over an 8% gap versus ADA. As of February 23, 2026, ADA trades around $0.268–$0.272.

Glassnode showed about 20% of addresses in profit in February as SOL slipped below $100, while the Hodler net position change turned positive in January but slowed over the past three weeks.
