Crypto market sheds over $300B in late May as liquidations hit $282.08M

The broader crypto market slid from mid-May highs near $2.75–$2.80 trillion to around $2.48 trillion between May 24 and May 30, wiping out more than $300 billion in value. Trading activity stayed elevated with $89.65 billion in 24-hour volume, while liquidations over the past 24 hours totaled $282.08 million, led by $80.99 million in BTC and $59.20 million in ETH. On May 29, Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs posted $148.8 million in net outflows, adding to a wider pullback of more than $1.2 billion as leverage and risk appetite cooled.
