U.S. Judge Clears Aave to Move $71M in Frozen ETH After rsETH Hack

Aave has received court approval to move roughly $71 million worth of ETH that was frozen on Arbitrum following the rsETH exploit. U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett of the Southern District of New York signed off on Aave's asset recovery plan, allowing the transfer of the ETH to wallets controlled by Aave. According to court filings, the order amends an injunction involving Arbitrum DAO, authorizing the transfer to be executed through an onchain governance vote and shielding associated parties from legal liability. The April rsETH attack has been linked to Lazarus Group. Plaintiffs have also filed suit against Railgun DAO and Digital Currency Group (DCG).
