Arbitrum DAO Weighs Unfreezing 30,765.67 ETH to Support rsETH Recovery

Arbitrum DAO has received a Constitutional AIP from Aave Labs, KelpDAO, LayerZero, EtherFi, Compound and other parties seeking to unfreeze 30,765.67 ETH and transfer it to the recovery address 0xf228...C15e. The funds would be used for compensation and asset restoration tied to the rsETH incident. The proposal says the cross-chain rsETH event resulted in an estimated shortfall of about 76,127 rsETH. If approved, the released ETH would be folded into a coordinated recovery plan. The authors state they are not requesting any additional disbursements from the Arbitrum treasury. The governance process is expected to take about 49 days. Voting is currently showing 100% support and is scheduled to close on May 8 at 2:54 a.m. Beijing time.
