Bybit has teamed up with Orbit Markets to launch Tether Gold (XAUT) options, marking the first rollout of XAUT options on a major crypto exchange. The European-style contracts are settled in USDT, with each options contract tied to one XAUT token representing one troy ounce of physical gold. Trading is supported via Bybit’s RFQ system for OTC execution, with initial liquidity provided by market makers with traditional precious-metals trading backgrounds. XAUT is a gold-pegged token, and while the listing does not change spot gold supply and demand, it is intended to improve price discovery for on-chain gold assets and expand institutional hedging tools.

Standard Chartered analyst Geoffrey Kendrick said bitcoin may already have marked the low for the current market cycle. He pointed to three conditions: renewed purchases by Strategy, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs turning back to net inflows, and continued weakness in oil prices. Kendrick argued that falling oil prices help ease inflation and upward pressure on U.S. Treasury yields, improving the macro backdrop for crypto assets.

Strategy bought 1,587 bitcoin between June 8 and June 14 at an average price of $63,024, spending about $100 million. The purchase lifted its total holdings to 846,842 BTC, valued at about $56 billion. Over the same period, the company sold roughly 1.73 million shares through its at-the-market program to raise $209 million and increased its USD Reserve to $1.1 billion.
