Brian Armstrong downplays volatility as BTC drops from $126,210 to $63,000
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said in an X post that he remains long‑term bullish and views volatility as a normal feature of the crypto market. Bitcoin reached $126,210 in October 2025 and traded near $63,000 by early February 2026, while Coinbase diversified revenue with subscriptions and services and set up a quantum‑risk advisory board as COIN fell about 45% in three months.

Bitwise advisor links February 5, 2026 Bitcoin plunge to TradFi deleveraging, not crypto flaws
Bitwise advisor Jeff Park argues that the sharp Bitcoin sell-off on February 5, 2026, when BTC briefly hit $60,000, stemmed from deleveraging in traditional finance portfolios rather than a crypto-specific shock. He says risk reduction in multi-asset strategies spilled over into hedged BTC positions and forced selling in products such as Bitwise’s Bitcoin ETF, even as spot BTC ETFs still recorded net inflows and prices rebounded in the following days. Park believes framing the move as a technical event tied to TradFi dynamics highlights Bitcoin’s maturation and may support renewed dip buying.

Arweave attributes false 24-hour block halt claims to stale explorer data on February 6-7 2026
Arweave has rejected claims that its network stopped producing blocks for over 24 hours after some explorers, notably ViewBlock, appeared to freeze at block #1,851,686 on February 6 2026. A team member said the issue stemmed from the explorer reading a local cache instead of the live block height, while Arscan showed uninterrupted block production up to February 7. Over the past year, Arweave processed more than two billion messages and rolled out performance upgrades, even as its AR token fell 6.51% on the day and 18% on the week amid broader market volatility.
