Kyrgyzstan Launches Som-Pegged Stablecoin KGST on BNB Chain, Advances CBDC Pilot
Kyrgyzstan launched KGST, a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the som, operating on BNB Chain. Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao attended the October 24, 2025 launch with President Sadyr Japarov. The National Bank will pilot a central bank digital currency in three phases, with a deployment decision expected by 2026.
