Since its inception, BingX has maintained an excellent security track record. This is all thanks to our ongoing commitment to protecting user assets and implementing industry-leading account security solutions. In this article, we'll introduce BingX's basic security features and how to set them up. If you're new here, you'll learn how to secure your account with passwords and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
1. Login Password: Your Account's First Line of Defense
Your password is the key to your account, just like the key to your house. Setting a strong password is the first step in securing your account.
Professional Tips:
- Your password should include at least 8 characters with a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
- Avoid using weak passwords like "Qwer1234" or "Passwd1234".
- Don’t reuse passwords from other websites.
If you don't remember your password, just click "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the instructions to reset it.
Make it a habit to update your password regularly by visiting the Account & Security page. Locate "Password" and click "Modify" to change it.
2. MFA: Multi-Layer Protection
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring you to provide at least one additional verification option besides your password. BingX offers several MFA options, including email, Google Authenticator and phone number verification.
Professional Tips:
- Set up at least 2 MFA options for your account.
- We strongly recommend using Google Authenticator and keeping it offline.
Email Address
Your email address is the identifier and login username for your account. It can also be used for two-factor authentication (2FA). Whenever you perform important actions on BingX, a randomly generated 6-digit code will be sent to your email to verify your identity.
Phone Number
Like your email address, your phone number can also be used as your identifier, login username and for 2FA.
Google Authenticator
Google Authenticator is a two-factor authentication app developed and open-sourced by Google. It supports both TOTP and HOTP protocols. Users usually install the Google Authenticator app on their smartphones, where it generates a 6-digit one-time password (OTP) that refreshes every 30 seconds.
To verify your identity on websites or services with two-step verification, you'll need to enter the OTP from the Google Authenticator app. OTPs from Google Authenticator is more secure than email or phone numbers as you can keep it offline. Only you and BingX know the verification code. We highly recommend linking your account to Google Authenticator for extra security.
3. Fund Password: Strengthen Fund Security
A fund password is typically a 4 or 6-digit code used to verify fund transactions. While many platforms have stopped using them, we believe it still plays a crucial role in security. BingX offers setting a fund password as an optional verification option. If you choose to enable it, you'll need to enter the correct fund password for any fund transactions, providing an extra layer of protection for your assets.
Professional Tips:
- Please enable your fund password.
- Set a number sequence you don't use often. Avoid weak passwords like your birthday, simple sequences (e.g., 123456), or repeated numbers (e.g., 666888).
