Microsoft, Google and Amazon pledge to fund new AI power needs as grid supply lags 5–10 years
A surge in AI computing demand is colliding with a power-supply crunch, with Microsoft, Google and Amazon among the companies pledging to cover the full cost of additional electricity and required grid infrastructure even as new generation can take 5–10 years to build. Bitzero (AIBZ) is positioned as one of the few firms able to provide AI-ready power immediately, citing more than 1GW of low-cost hydro assets in Norway and Finland and direct grid connections, alongside a signed 110MW long-term data center lease. The article does not provide direct financial impact data for traditional equities, arguing instead that the infrastructure bottleneck is pushing attention toward physical energy assets such as power and natural gas.

Russia extends relaxed fuel standards and keeps gasoline export ban amid shortages
Russia has extended relaxed environmental standards to allow some refineries to produce higher-sulfur gasoline and diesel as it seeks to ease domestic fuel shortages. The government has also banned gasoline exports and extended restrictions on diesel exports through July 31, while a jet fuel export ban runs through November 30, 2026. The measures come as Ukrainian drone attacks intensify against Russian refining infrastructure and fuel supply routes. Russia has also publicly acknowledged for the first time that crude oil production has been declining since the start of the year.
