Paxos said Thursday that its unit Paxos Securities Settlement Company (PSSC) was registered by the U.S. SEC as a clearing agency under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The firm said the registration lets PSSC provide clearing and settlement services for eligible securities trades and described itself as the first blockchain-native company to receive the license.

Truth Social, operated by Trump Media & Technology Group, submitted paperwork to pull its SEC filings for the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF and the Truth Social Bitcoin & Ethereum ETF. The company told regulators it will not pursue the public offering "at this time," while sponsor Yorkville America said the move is meant to reapply using a different securities structure. The registration statements were originally filed in June 2025.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to publish an “innovation exemption” for tokenized stocks as early as this week. The framework would let traditional market institutions test blockchain-based tokenized securities without completing the full registration process. In recent months, the SEC has also approved related rule changes involving Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange, alongside a three-year DTCC authorization for tokenizing certain liquid assets.

Arbitrum DAO approved releasing 30,765.6 ETH (about $70 million) to DeFi United, a restitution effort formed after the $292 million Kelp DAO exploit. The Snapshot vote showed 182.2 million votes in favor (90.96%), with about 9% abstaining. A May 1 court order could still prevent any transfer of the recovered ETH and has led Aave LLC to file an emergency motion challenging the restriction.

The Solana Foundation said it launched ecosystem-wide security initiatives on Monday, funding programs led by Asymmetric Research. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed SB 277 into law on Wednesday, creating a legal framework for DAO-like decentralized nonprofit organizations. The measure says members generally are not personally liable for the association's activities, and it is expected to take full effect on Oct. 1, 2026.

Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal said the U.S. Clarity Act is "very close" to an agreement on how stablecoin yield should be handled, following a Wednesday interview. He argued there is no evidence that allowing yield on idle stablecoin balances would trigger bank deposit flight and said the yield debate should not be mixed with other issues banks are facing. PeckShield said crypto hacks and exploits led to $52 million in losses across 20 major incidents in March. The firm noted the total was up 96% from $26.5 million in February, with the largest share tied to a Resolv Labs exploit that drained over $25 million in USR stablecoins. It also warned that knock-on effects can spread to connected DeFi venues when a compromised asset sharply devalues.

KB Kookmin Card said Tuesday it will work with Avalanche to develop a hybrid stablecoin payment model designed for use with existing credit cards. The company plans to build the system on a public blockchain and, with OpenAsset, cover top-ups, payments, and settlement, while prioritizing wallet stablecoin balances before charging any remainder to credit.
