Crypto asset manager Grayscale has submitted a preliminary prospectus to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to convert its NEAR Protocol Trust into an exchange-traded fund planned for listing on NYSE Arca. The GSNR trust, which started OTCQB trading in September, currently manages $900,000 with a net asset value of $2.19 per share, down 45%, while NEAR token prices have fallen about 92% from their January 2022 peak to $1.54.

Noble, a stablecoin-focused blockchain, said on Tuesday it will move from the Cosmos SDK to a standalone EVM layer-1, targeting a March 18 launch. The team cited stronger tooling and developer accessibility, and claimed over $22 billion in transaction volume since 2023, 30,000 monthly active users, and liquidity coverage for 50+ blockchains.

Bitcoin slid 4% on Tuesday to $87,790 on Coinbase, erasing year-to-date gains. Over the past 48 hours, more than $1.8 billion in positions were liquidated, about 93% of them longs, according to Coinglass. Analysts pointed to renewed U.S. tariff threats and turmoil in Japanese bonds as drivers, while crypto's market cap dropped by $225 billion to $3.08 trillion.

CryptoQuant said custody wallets holding 100–1,000 BTC accumulated about $53 billion in Bitcoin over the past 12 months, and founder Ki Young Ju noted 577,000 BTC was added to this cohort. The firm also pointed to an increase of around 33% over 24 months. In the United States, spot Bitcoin ETFs have posted an aggregate inflow of $1.2 billion so far this year.

Analysts from Glassnode reported that Bitcoin spot market activity is picking up and sell-side pressure is easing, even as demand remains fragile. Bitcoin dropped from a recent high near $95,450 to trade below $93,000, while other analysts noted that weakening liquidity and network growth resemble conditions that preceded a past bull rally.

Bitcoin futures open interest showed a cautious rebound in January after last quarter's sharp deleveraging, signaling tentative risk appetite returning to derivatives. Despite the improvement, OI remains well below prior highs, while options activity has overtaken futures, hinting at a shift toward strategies that reduce forced liquidations.

Glassnode said on Thursday that Ethereum's month-over-month activity retention climbed from a little over 4 million to about 8 million addresses. Etherscan logged more than 1 million active addresses on Jan. 15, while daily transactions hit a 2.8 million all-time high alongside surging stablecoin use and falling fees.

CryptoQuant said Wednesday that Bitcoin derivatives open interest has dropped about 31% since October, a deleveraging move that often coincides with market bottoms. CoinGlass estimates total BTC OI near $65 billion, roughly 28% below the early October peak above $90 billion, while Deribit's $100,000 strike leads with $2.2 billion notional.

BitMine Immersion Technologies added 186,560 ETH to its staking position on the Beacon Chain, taking its total staked Ether holdings to 1,530,784 ETH valued at roughly $5.13 billion. The firm now has about 37% of its more than 4 million ETH staked, while its stock price rose 3.8% in after-hours trading to $32.35 as Ether itself climbed 7% on the day.
