Fractional shares trading lets users buy or sell stocks in amounts of less than 1 share. For example, Tesla, Inc (TSLA) trades at over 200 USD per share. With fractional shares trading, you can use 10 USDC to buy approximately 0.05 shares. This makes high-priced stocks accessible to everyone.

Stocks that do not support fractional shares: Market buy orders can only be placed by amount, which does not guarantee that a whole number of shares will be filled. Therefore, market buy orders cannot be used for stocks that do not support fractional shares. To buy these stocks, use a limit order, place the order by number of shares and enter a whole number of shares.
III. Fractional Share Trading Calculation Example
Example: A user has 50 USDC and buys Apple Inc (AAPL) stock, currently priced at approximately 195 USDC per share.
- Fees are reflected as a spread (included in the execution price).
- Actual purchase amount ≈ 50 USDC.
- Shares obtained ≈ 50 ÷ 195 ≈ 0.2564 shares.
💡 Fractional share positions are entitled to the same benefits as whole shares, including dividends and stock splits.
IV. How Fractional Shares Are Handled in Corporate Actions
- Cash dividends: Distributed precisely based on position percentage.
- Stock splits: Share count increases proportionally, with fractional shares maintained to the same precision.
- Reverse stock splits: Portions less than 1 share are settled in cash.
- Stock dividends: Positions increase proportionally.
