What Is Solomon (SOLO) and How Does It Work?
Solomon is a Solana-native stablecoin protocol designed to create a more composable, yield-generating dollar for DeFi. The system lets users hold a dollar-pegged asset that stays at $1, remains fully liquid, and earns programmatic yield in the background. To do this, Solomon uses a dual-token model and a yield engine built on delta-neutral trading.
The protocol operates with two core tokens:
• USDv - a non-rebase stablecoin held near $1 through two-way arbitrage
• sUSDv - staked USDv that accrues yield from Solomon’s delta-neutral basis-trade engine
Solomon’s yield comes from running spot-long / perp-short basis trades on major assets like BTC, ETH, and SOL. The protocol captures funding rates and distributes them to users through two paths:
• sUSDv staking (permissionless)
• YaaS (Yield-as-a-Service) streaming for approved USDv holders who want yield without staking
This architecture allows Solomon to offer a spendable, composable, and yield-bearing dollar, making USDv suitable for treasuries, LPs (liquidity provideers), Solana DEX integrations, and fintech use cases.
When Was SOLO Launched?
SOLO was launched through a public sale on MetaDAO from November 14 to November 18, 2025, running for a four-day window at 18:30 UTC. The sale distributed 10,000,000 SOLO to participants and established initial liquidity by pairing 2.9 million SOLO with 20% of the accepted USDC in a DEX pool. The raise required a $2 million minimum, with unaccepted contributions refunded.
What Is the SOLO Token Utility?
SOLO functions as the governance and ownership token of the Solomon protocol, giving holders control over how the system evolves. Its utility includes:
1. Treasury Governance: SOLO holders govern the use of the treasury capital raised during the ICO. Major expenses, upgrades, and any issuance changes require on-chain approval.
2. Protocol Oversight: Governance covers:
• Parameters for USDv and sUSDv
• YaaS (Yield-as-a-Service) onboarding rules
• Custody, risk, and operational settings
• Confirmations for team unlock conditions
3. Long-Term Alignment: The team receives 0 SOLO at launch. Instead, 12.9M SOLO is locked as a performance package and unlocks only when SOLO sustains higher price milestones (2×, 4×, 8×, 16×, 32× the ICO price) with an 18-month cliff and a 3-month TWAP requirement. This ties team incentives directly to long-term protocol success.
What Is SOLO Tokenomics?
SOLO has a fixed genesis supply of 25.8 million tokens, designed to keep early inflation low and ensure strong alignment between the team and the community. At launch, the supply was distributed across three segments:
Distribution at Launch
• 10,000,000 SOLO Distributed to public sale participants
• 2,900,000 SOLO Added to DEX liquidity by the treasury
• 12,900,000 SOLO Team performance allocation (fully locked at launch)
The team receives zero tokens at launch, and the 12.9 million SOLO assigned to them remains locked behind strict performance milestones. These tokens unlock only when SOLO reaches and maintains price thresholds of 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, and 32x the ICO price. Every unlock requires an 18 month cliff plus a 3 month TWAP confirmation period, ensuring that tokens can only be released after long term, sustained growth rather than short term volatility or speculative spikes. This structure tightly ties team incentives to real protocol traction.
In addition, the Solomon treasury is managed through on chain governance by SOLO holders. The treasury operates under a 100,000 dollar monthly spending cap, and any major expenditure, protocol update, or token issuance change must be approved by the community. This governance design supports a disciplined, transparent, and community aligned token economy aimed at long term durability and responsible capital deployment.
What Blockchain Network Does SOLO Operate On?
SOLO operates on the Solana blockchain. The entire Solomon system including USDv, sUSDv, staking programs, vaults, and on chain accounting is built natively on Solana. The protocol relies on Solana’s high speed and low cost environment, as well as its existing DeFi integrations such as Meteora pools and Pyth price feeds, to support fast minting, staking, and yield distribution.
Which Wallets Support SOLO Tokens?
SOLO is a Solana based token, so it can be stored in any Solana compatible wallet such as Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, or Glow. These wallets support holding SOLO and interacting with USDv and sUSDv across the Solana ecosystem. For YaaS participation, only approved institutional wallets that complete KYC can receive streamed yield.
Is SOLO a Good Investment?
SOLO gives holders governance exposure to a Solana based stablecoin protocol that already has a functioning yield engine and a full year of live testing. Solomon has demonstrated consistent performance through a delta neutral basis trade and has distributed real yield to users during its closed beta. Its tokenomics are conservative, with zero team tokens unlocked at launch and all team allocation tied to long term price milestones and community governed spending.
SOLO still carries the risks of an early DeFi project. Its yield depends on funding rates and basis spreads, and the protocol relies on CEX connectivity and custody infrastructure. It may be suitable for investors who want governance exposure to Solana stablecoin infrastructure and understand the risks of yield based strategies.
