MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor publicly confirmed he intends to destroy the private keys controlling more than 17,000 bitcoin, valued at about $1.3 billion. If carried out, the move would permanently render those bitcoin unusable and remove them from effective circulation. Saylor said the decision is meant to follow Satoshi’s vision by making everyone on the network “richer and more powerful.”
