Tesla’s Cybercab robotaxi has been photographed on New Zealand’s South Island, where two left-hand-drive prototypes were seen being transported to the Cardrona cold-weather test facility. The two-seat electric autonomous vehicle is designed without a steering wheel or pedals, and Tesla plans to sell it to the public in 2026 with U.S. pricing expected to be about US$30,000. EPA documents list a single front-mounted motor, a 50kWh battery and an EPA-estimated 451km range. Tesla’s robotaxi service is already operating in multiple U.S. cities.
