Nethermind, the developer behind Ethereum’s most-used client, said it will step down as a LayerZero verifier and move its cross-chain operations to Chainlink. Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov referenced the move at a White House technology leaders event and highlighted Chainlink’s expanding role in tokenized stocks and stablecoin infrastructure. As of Aug. 20, LINK is up 22.1% over the past seven days, while ETH has risen 22.4% over the same period.

As of August 20, 2026, BNB Chain leads real-world asset (RWA) adoption with about 776K holders and $5.80 billion in total value excluding stablecoins, ahead of Robinhood at around 518K holders and Solana at roughly 340K. BNB rose 7.2% over the past seven days to $650.54 and is up roughly 370% over 30 days. Low fees, high throughput, and an established user base are drawing in projects and holders more quickly, with the token consolidating near $650 after breaking above $630.

Solana said on Aug. 20 that tokenized equities supply on its network surpassed $465 million, setting a new weekly all-time high. Over the past year, tokenized equity volume on Solana jumped from about $1.34 million to $3.32 billion, a nearly 2,400-fold increase. Solana now processes more than 95% of global cross-chain tokenized stock volume, reinforcing its dominance in the category.
