Humanity Protocol Hit by $30M Hack, H Token Crashes 90%
Humanity Protocol has been hit by a major security incident, with losses now topping $30 million, according to on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain. The project's H token sank about 90% after the exploit.
On-chain analyst Specter first flagged unusual activity, saying more than 17 wallets holding H tokens were drained. Early estimates put losses above $19 million before being revised higher. The stolen funds have been tracked to multiple addresses believed to be controlled by the attacker. The project has not yet confirmed the technical root cause.
Humanity Protocol said on its official account that private keys belonging to a member of the Humanity Foundation were compromised. The attacker is reportedly offloading H tokens and swapping proceeds into Ethereum, extending sell pressure as the token price continues to slide.
User Guidance
The team urged users to avoid interacting with the bridge or any liquidity pools until an official all-clear is issued. It also warned that scammers and impersonators often follow such events, adding that the team will never message users first or request seed phrases or private keys. Updates will be posted only via the Humanity Protocol account or cofounder Terence Kwok.
Market Impact
H fell roughly 90% intraday after the news. Continued selling tied to the attacker's conversion of stolen tokens into Ethereum has limited any rebound, amplifying broader panic selling among holders.
